Manipur: Security Forces Arrest Two In Churachandpur; Seized Arms And Ammunition

Security forces on Thursday apprehended two individuals from Lamzang Village in Churachandpur District. The suspects, identified as Jangneu Haokip (33) and Lililn Haokip (42), were found in possession of a significant cache of weapons and equipment, including one 9mm Carbine Machine Gun 1A1 with a magazine, one pistol with a magazine, 123 live rounds of ammunition, one four-wheeler, and two mobile handsets.

In a separate operation, Manipur Police apprehended an active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-PWG), identified as Tularanjan Ingudam Meitei (29), near Zomi Villa Gate, North AOC, Imphal West. The suspect was reportedly involved in extortion activities targeting the public and businesses.

Items recovered from his possession include one 9mm pistol with a magazine, one mobile handset, and one two-wheeler without a registration number.

Meanwhile, in continued security efforts, search and area domination operations were conducted across fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts. From the Wakan Hill Range in Imphal East District, security forces recovered one single-barrel gun, one 9mm pistol with a magazine, one .32 pistol with a magazine, two 9mm rounds, four improvised explosive devices (Pompi) along with a trigger, and one camouflage T-shirt.
