In a joint operation on January 10, 2025, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police arrested two Myanmarese nationals in Siaha District, Mizoram, for attempting to smuggle a large amount of foreign currency. The total seized currency amounted to one crore forty-eight lakh and seventy thousand (1.48 Crore) rupees.
The individuals were taken into custody for further investigation, as authorities continue to address cross-border smuggling in the region.
