Guwahati, Jan 15: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, five suspected drug peddlers were arrested, and contraband valued at over Rs 3 crore was seized in Assam’s Cachar district, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed on Wednesday.
The operations were conducted at Silchar Bypass and Sonai, as part of a larger crackdown on drug trafficking in the region. Sarma took to social media, highlighting the success of the operations, stating, “@cacharpolice carried out two operations as part of our ongoing anti-narcotics drive.”
