Aizawl, Jan 17: Pu Girish Prasad Singh, Chief Engineer of Project Pushpak under the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), recently met with Mizoram Governor Gen (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh to review the progress of key infrastructure projects in the state. The discussions primarily focused on the development of roads and bridges that are vital for improving connectivity and fostering growth in Mizoram’s remote and strategically important regions.
Governor Gen (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh emphasized the need for the adoption of modern technologies to expedite construction and reduce costs for border road projects. He also urged the swift resolution of challenges to ensure the timely completion of ongoing infrastructure work.
During the meeting, Chief Engineer Singh provided an update on Project Pushpak’s progress in Mizoram, detailing the completion of 3,150 km of roads, with 2,392 km already handed over to state and central agencies. The project currently manages 14 roads in the state, with five completed and maintained, four nearing completion, and five under construction. Additionally, efforts are underway to complete four bridges by the end of the year.
