Arunachal Athletes Shine At National Sub-Junior Judo Championship, Winning Gold, Silver, And Bronze Medals

Itanagar, Jan 21: Arunachal Pradesh’s Chochomai Lap emerged victorious in the National Sub-Junior Judo Championship 2024-25, clinching a gold medal in the girls’ below 44 kg category. The event is currently underway in Pune, Maharashtra, and will conclude on 21 January.

Luna Techi Tara added to the state’s medal tally with a silver in the girls’ below 57 kg category.

In addition to the gold and silver, Arunachal Pradesh athletes secured five bronze medals. The bronze medalists include Tagru Taluk (boys’ below 50 kg), Wangrang Wangsu (boys’ below 45 kg), Bugha Sangdo (boys’ below 55 kg), Ragi Techi (boys’ below 60 kg), and Bolam Wangsu (boys’ below 66 kg).

The Arunachal Judo Association (AJA) congratulated all the medalists, noting that their achievements would inspire young athletes across the state.

Earlier this month, Kentu Lap also earned a gold medal in the All India University Games in Amritsar, where she competed in the below 60 kg category.
