Agartala, February 04, 2025: Tripura Santiniketan Medical College is poised to make history as it awaits official recognition from the India Book of Records for an unprecedented achievement in medical education. The institution is on the verge of securing a place in the record books for having the “Maximum State-Wide Enrolment in an Inaugural Academic Session of a Medical College”—a feat that highlights its rapid rise as a premier national medical institution.

According to college authorities, Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Editor-in-Chief of the India Book of Records has confirmed the college’s eligibility for this recognition. The formal announcement is scheduled to be made on February 15, 2025, marking a significant milestone not just for the college but for the landscape of medical education in India.

To ensure compliance with the International Protocol of Records (IPR), the college has been meticulously following specific guidelines and criteria issued by the India Book of Records. This rigorous process underscores the legitimacy and prestige associated with the forthcoming recognition.

Adding to the significance of the event, the ceremony will be graced by Dr. Pradeep Bhardwaj, a distinguished medical professional renowned for his exceptional academic and professional accomplishments. Dr. Bhardwaj holds multiple prestigious qualifications, including an M.Ch in Mountain Medicine, MHA, MPH, M.Phil, PhD, MBA-HA, and MNA. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, he was honored with the National e-Governance Award (2017) by the Government of India and was named among the “People of the Year 2017” in the Limca Book of Records. Dr. Bhardwaj has also received numerous accolades from the President of India, Prime Minister, and senior officials from the Indian Armed Forces.

This diverse enrolment firmly establishes Tripura Santiniketan Medical College as a national hub for medical education, attracting top talent from every corner of the country.
