Former Lok Sabha MP Dr. T. Meinya has urged the BJP central leadership to appoint a new Chief Minister for Manipur at the earliest, in light of the ongoing political instability in the state. Speaking at the 7th Foundation Day of the Langjing Achouba Old Age Home, Dr. Meinya expressed concerns over the confusion and uncertainty faced by the people of Manipur after the resignation of the Chief Minister, which he described as an incomplete solution to the crisis.
Dr. Meinya emphasized that without addressing the underlying issues, the political situation in the state could worsen. He warned that continued delays in appointing a new Chief Minister could have severe political consequences, with growing tensions between the state government and the public.
The former MP’s remarks come after the forced resignation of the Chief Minister, which has raised doubts about the BJP’s strategy for governance in the state. Dr. Meinya urged the party leadership to take immediate and decisive action to restore stability and ensure good governance in Manipur.
The event, which was also attended by key figures such as RK Maipaksana, Chief Advisor of the Old Age Home, Dr. RK Nayansana Devi, Former Chairperson of the Manipur State Social Welfare Board, and local political leaders, including Sorokhaibam Sijust, Chairperson of Langjing Achouba Gram Panchayat, was an occasion for Dr. Meinya to make his appeal to the BJP central leadership.
