Security forces arrested four active militants from different locations across Manipur in separate operations, officials said Thursday.

In the first operation, security personnel apprehended Kshetrimayum Badrajit Singh alias Yangba (39), an active cadre of KCP (PWG), near NEILIT Gate in Akampat, Imphal East District. Singh, a resident of Kongba Kshetri Leikai, was allegedly involved in extortion and issuing monetary threats to the general public and government offices.

In a separate operation, two more KCP (PWG) cadres—Khangembam Naotomba Singh alias Mutpa (25) and Elangbam Boinao Singh alias Aboy (27)—were arrested from Leirongthel Pitra Village under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, Thoubal District.

Additionally, on Tuesday, security forces arrested Seiminlen Doungel (35), an active member of the UKNA outfit, from Tuibong Village, Churachandpur District. Doungel was allegedly involved in extortion, kidnapping, arms smuggling, and drug trafficking across the Indo-Myanmar border.

Authorities recovered a cache of weapons and documents from his possession, including one AK-47 rifle with a magazine, two .315 rifles, including one suspected to be looted from a gun shop, one single-barrel country-made rifle, 23 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and multiple identification and financial documents, including debit cards, a PAN card, and a voter ID.

Further investigations are underway.
