In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Assam Rifles seized 1,518 grams of suspected Heroin No. 4, concealed in 132 soap cases, worth approximately ₹15.4 crore in Thingkangphai Village, Churachandpur district.
Acting on reliable intelligence, Assam Rifles personnel intercepted a white Mahindra Bolero late Monday night at Thingkangphai Village. During the operation, they arrested the vehicle’s driver, identified as Thangsuanman (44) from M Tanglian Village.
The apprehended individual, along with the seized contraband and the vehicle, has been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings under the NDPS Act, 1985, the PRO of the Ministry of Defence stated in a press release.
