Nagaland: Excise Department Seizes IMFL In Dimapur, 14 Arrested

Dimapur, Mar 5: The Excise Department in Nagaland conducted surprise raids in Dimapur, leading to the seizure of a large quantity of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and multiple arrests for violating prohibition laws.

Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition, Dimapur, Limatsemu Changkiri, reported that the Dimapur district Excise Department seized 869 bottles of assorted IMFL and arrested 14 individuals, who were penalized under the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989.

Additionally, the Excise Mobile Squad Unit from the Commissioner of Excise carried out raids in different areas of Dimapur town, seizing another 553 bottles of IMFL.

Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition (Mobile Squad), Tokuho Assumi, stated that the department will continue its crackdown on illegal liquor activities. The public has been urged to cooperate by providing information on unlawful storage, transportation, and sale of liquor.
