Arunachal Hosts First-Ever Border Adventure Race At Menchukha

Itanagar, Apr 21: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared his excitement on social media following the successful conclusion of the 3rd National Adventure Racing Championship, held in Menchukha. The event, organized by NthAdventure in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, was historic as it marked India’s first-ever Border Adventure Race.

The championship, a qualifier for the ARWS Asia Championship 2025, featured a challenging array of activities, including trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, rope work, hike-a-bike, and orienteering, testing the endurance and skills of the participants.

Team Malaysia emerged victorious, securing the first place, followed by Menchukha Cycling Club in second and Team Ziro in third. CM Khandu also expressed gratitude to Heidi Muller, CEO of the Adventure Racing World Series, for her presence at the event, which added inspiration for all involved.

Khandu praised NthAdventure for selecting Menchukha as the venue, showcasing the region’s potential for adventure sports. He concluded with hopes for more such milestones in the future, further enhancing Arunachal Pradesh’s growing reputation as a hub for adventure tourism.
