Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh Reviews Central Schemes In Mizoram’s Hnahthial District

Aizawl, Apr 24: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Planning, Statistics and Programme Implementation and Minister of State for Culture, Rao Inderjit Singh visited Hnahthial District on Wednesday to review the implementation of various Central government schemes.

The Minister arrived at Rallangtlang Helipad at 10:50 a.m. and was received by Deputy Commissioner Pi K. Vanlalruati and other senior officials. He proceeded to the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, where a review meeting was conducted with officials from multiple departments.

In his address, Rao Inderjit Singh stated that the development of Mizoram and the North East region is essential for the country’s overall progress. He said the purpose of his visit was to assess the performance of Central schemes and identify areas that need strengthening to improve local development outcomes.

He also commended Mizoram for its record of maintaining law and order, describing it as one of the most peaceful states in the country. He reiterated the Centre’s focus on supporting the development of the North East, including districts like Hnahthial.

Presentations were made by officials from the Health & Family Welfare Department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fisheries Department, Public Health Engineering, Rural Development Department, Education Department, and Women and Child Development Department. The review covered the implementation of schemes such as PM POSHAN, PMMSY, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), MGNREGA, and PMAY.

The Minister provided feedback on each scheme and discussed how they could be made more effective in meeting the needs of the local population.

Following the review, cultural performances were held, including a Cheraw dance by the Hnahthial District Sub-HQ Young Mizo Association (YMA), a pipe band display by Government Southern High School, and a solo performance by Baby Vanlhriatpuii.

Rao Inderjit Singh departed for Lengpui Airport at 2:05 p.m. and was scheduled to return to Delhi.
