Assam Panchayat Polls: 9.7% Turnout In First Two Hours Of Second Phase Voting

Guwahati, May 7: The second phase of the panchayat elections in Assam commenced on Wednesday with a voter turnout of 9.7 per cent recorded in the first two hours, according to election officials.

Polling started at 7:30 am in 13 districts: Dhubri, South Salmara-Mankachar, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Nalbari, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Hojai, Nagaon, Morigaon, and Darrang.

A total of 91,31,127 voters, including 44,99,952 women, are eligible to cast their votes in this phase.
