Agartala, May 08, 2025: A heart-wrenching tragedy took place at Tripura’s GB Hospital as Priyanka Roy, a housewife from Indranagar in Agartala city passed away just a day after giving birth to a healthy baby through caesarean section. The grieving family now blames the hospital’s medical staff for her untimely death.

Priyanka was admitted to GB Hospital last Tuesday by her husband. According to hospital records and family statements, she underwent a successful caesarean operation on Wednesday and delivered a healthy newborn. “Everything seemed normal. I even spoke to her last night—she was absolutely fine,” her husband said, struggling to hold back tears.

However, tragedy struck in the early hours of Thursday when Priyanka suddenly developed severe breathing difficulties. Despite immediate efforts by the medical team, including oxygen support, she could not be saved.

“This must have been a result of some medical error or negligence by the health workers. There should be a proper investigation so that no other family has to go through this pain,” the grieving husband alleged.

The death of the young mother has sparked outrage and sorrow in the locality, with calls for an impartial inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her death.
