Sikkim CM Meets Amit Shah, Invites Him To 50th Statehood Anniversary Celebration

Gangtok, May 23: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations marking 50 years of Sikkim’s statehood.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister extended a formal invitation to the Home Minister to participate in the celebrations. Amit Shah accepted the invitation and expressed his willingness to visit Sikkim on May 29, 2025, to commemorate the occasion.

The Chief Minister also congratulated the Home Minister on the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, terming it a major achievement in the country’s fight against terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Tamang thanked Amit Shah for his time, guidance, and continued support to the people of Sikkim.
