BSF, Tripura Police Seize ₹29 Lakh Worth Contraband Along Indo Bangladesh Border

Agartala, May 28: In a series of coordinated operations on May 26, alert personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura Frontier, successfully foiled several smuggling attempts along the Indo-Bangladesh border.

BSF troops seized contraband items including Phensedyl and Ganja worth ₹11,71,660 and also rescued several cattle during the operations.

In a separate joint operation, BSF and Tripura Police recovered contraband worth ₹17.5 lakh from an abandoned house near Border Out Post (BOP) Matai. The seized items included foreign cigarettes, cough syrup, and clothing.

The combined value of seized contraband in both operations totals nearly ₹29 lakh. Security forces continue to maintain heightened vigilance along the international border to prevent cross-border smuggling.
