Agartala, May 30, 2025: The Tripura Adivasi Congress has strongly criticized the TIPRA Motha Party, alleging a lack of visible development in the Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas since the party assumed power in 2021.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan on Friday, State Adivasi Congress Chairman Shabd Kumar Jamatia demanded the immediate release of a white paper outlining employment data and developmental work carried out in the ADC region. “The TIPRA Motha government has failed to bring any meaningful progress to the tribal areas. They have only played politics with the emotions of our people,” Jamatia stated.
He further alleged that the promises made to the tribal population have remained unfulfilled, leaving the community disillusioned. “Our people have been misled in the name of development,” he added.
Jamatia also asserted that it is the Congress Party that has historically worked for the true upliftment of tribal communities in Tripura. “When it comes to real commitment, only the Congress has stood by the tribals,” he said.
Joining him at the press conference were Pradesh Adivasi Congress leaders Atul Debbarma and Shib Chandra Debbarma, who also voiced concerns over the TIPRA Motha administration’s performance and called for greater transparency and accountability in its governance.
