Agartala, June 05, 2025: Tripura’s former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb launched a scathing attack on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) during an organizational conference of the Tripura Irregular DWS Pump Operators Association held at Agartala Town Hall on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Deb accused the communists of acting as “brokers for China” despite being unable to “buy even an inch of land there.” In a sharp jibe, he remarked, “The Chinese Prime Minister would sweep them away with a broom if they tried.”
The BJP leader ridiculed the communists for “pretending to stand by the poor” while simultaneously “collecting donations from them.” Deb alleged that not a single communist leader came forward to help the flood victims recently. “If they were in power, they would have collected money from the poor even during disasters,” he claimed.
He further accused the communists of spreading misinformation and working against the interests of the common people. “They are foreigners in words and spirit. The Left never worked for the welfare of the people,” Deb stated, adding that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi is capable of meeting the legitimate demands of the pump operators.
Deb also criticized the Left for allegedly misleading the public about central government schemes during their rule in Tripura. “They opposed and protested every beneficial project just to keep the people away from government facilities,” he said.
“The communists don’t care about the state’s development. For them, unionization and protests are the ultimate goals,” Deb concluded in his strongly worded speech.
