Agartala, June 07, 2025: In a bid to strengthen grassroots-level election management, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura on Saturday launched a comprehensive training programme for Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO supervisors across the state.

The initiative, rolled out under the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI), commenced on Saturday with a session held for officials under West Tripura district. A total of 85 participants from the Mohanpur, Sadar and Jirania subdivisions attended the training, which focused on enhancing the operational efficiency of BLOs in managing booth-level records.

“The training programme aims to ensure error-free electoral rolls by improving the capacity of BLOs and supervisors,” said Additional Chief Electoral Officer (ACEO) Usha Jen Mog while addressing the media on Saturday.

The training covered key responsibilities such as door-to-door verification, updating of photo electoral rolls, and handling the inclusion, deletion and correction of electors’ details.

Tripura has 3,352 polling booths, and similar training programmes will be conducted in all districts to cover the entire state. The inaugural session was attended by Chief Electoral Officer Brijesh Pandey and Deputy Electoral Officer Suman Banik.

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, ACEO Mog said, “Maintaining accurate and inclusive electoral rolls is essential for conducting free and fair elections.”
