The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has formally launched a non-cooperation movement against the Superintendent of Police and the Additional SP (Law and Order) of Senapati district, citing the government’s failure to act on a 48-hour ultimatum issued on June 4 demanding their transfer.

In a public directive released on Wednesday, the SDSA announced that the movement is effective immediately, instructing civil society organizations (CSOs), stakeholders, and the general public to cease all forms of engagement, cooperation, or correspondence with the two officers in both civil and official matters.

The apex student body of the district said the drastic step was necessitated by what it termed as the “unprofessional conduct” and mishandling of a peaceful democratic agitation by the officers, compounded by the state machinery’s indifference to public concerns.

“The SDSA shall not be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order or threat to public safety resulting from the continued service of the said officers in the district,” the release warned.

It further stated that given the “growing public mistrust and resentment” against the two officials, the personal security and well-being of the officers would no longer be considered the responsibility of the SDSA.

The directive will remain in force until appropriate action is taken by the government and the concerned officers are relieved of their duties in the district, the SDSA stated.
