The Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal, has announced that it will resume both healthcare and academic activities from June 16, 2025, following a temporary shutdown due to severe flooding earlier this month.
In a press statement issued by the institute, authorities confirmed that healthcare services at JNIMS Hospital — including emergency operations — will restart from June 16. The institution had completely suspended operations after floodwaters inundated the campus on June 2.
While emergency services are set to resume immediately, efforts are ongoing to restore routine surgeries and other medical operations as quickly as possible.
Academic activities will also recommence on the same date, with regular classes for undergraduate (MBBS and BDS) students and postgraduate trainees scheduled to restart.
The institute expressed its gratitude to staff, students, and stakeholders for their support in restoring services and reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality healthcare and medical education to the people of Manipur.
