Itanagar, May 10 : Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik on Friday said the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025, is a significant step towards promoting equity and empowering underprivileged sections of society.

Speaking at a Waqf reform awareness programme held at Raj Bhavan, the Governor stated that the amended Act ensures proper utilisation of revenues generated from Waqf properties for the benefit of those in need.

“The reform is not just about administration; it is about empowerment and equity,” Parnaik said while addressing a gathering of community leaders, scholars, and representatives from various faiths.

He emphasised that the legislation would help marginalised communities progress on an equal footing with others.
