Agartala, June 05, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday reaffirmed the state government’s dual focus on employment generation and infrastructure development while addressing a public gathering at Kumarghat. The event marked the inauguration of 10 projects and foundation stone laying for five new projects across Kumarghat and Pecharthal blocks.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, the Chief Minister said, “Around 30,000 jobs have already been provided under the current administration. More employment opportunities will be rolled out in the near future.”
He further stated that from January to May 2025, the state has witnessed the inauguration and launching of infrastructure projects worth ₹578 crore—underscoring a major push in development.
The CM also informed the public about upcoming connectivity plans. “Flight services from Kailashahar airport will be reintroduced soon,” he said. Additionally, the government is exploring possibilities to utilize the defunct airports at Khowai and Kamalpur for future aviation or logistic use.
On the railways front, the CM assured that he will personally approach the Union Railway Minister regarding the delay in development works at Kumarghat Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which includes Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, and Udaipur stations from Tripura.
Among the major inaugurated projects were the Pecharthal Primary Health Centre at a cost of ₹2.25 crore, the Shantipur High School building worth ₹1.46 crore, and four Health Sub-Centers at Sonamura, Saidabari, Betachhara, and Deovally, each costing ₹30 lakh. Additionally, the Machmara Tehsil Office (₹30 lakh), an RCC Bridge at Ratiyabari (₹33.9 lakh), the North-East Kanchanbari High School building (₹20 lakh), and a Science Lab and Art & Craft Room at Bhati Dudhpur High School (₹40.4 lakh) were also inaugurated.
Foundation stones were laid for the Betachhara High School building with an estimated cost of ₹8.51 crore, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Office at Kumarghat (₹8 crore), Multipurpose Centers at Sadhu Chandra Para and Seba Chandra Para (₹60 lakh each), and a Fire Station at Pecharthal (₹2.68 crore).
The event was attended by Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, MLA Bhagaban Das, Unakoti DM Tamal Majumder, SP Sudambika R, and other officials.
