Agartala, June 10, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesdya said that infiltration in the state has significantly decreased in the last six months, thanks to intensified government efforts and vigilant surveillance along the border.
Speaking to reporters, Dr. Saha remarked, “Infiltration has not increased, rather it has come down slightly in the past six months. The government is making every possible effort to curb the menace. Surveillance has also been enhanced significantly in the border areas.”
Expressing concern over the physical condition of border fencing in some areas, the Chief Minister added, “There are places where the barbed wire fencing is in a dilapidated state, and some areas still lack fencing altogether. I have already discussed this matter with the central government and even raised it personally with senior leaders at the national level.”
Dr. Saha further informed that the situation at the border is being continuously monitored in coordination with the security forces and the Border Security Force (BSF). “The security forces are discharging their duties with utmost dedication. Their efforts have contributed significantly to the reduction in infiltration cases,” he said.
He also noted that similar anti-infiltration measures are being undertaken in other Indian states sharing borders with Bangladesh.
