The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) marked its 74th Foundation Day on Monday with tributes to regional leaders and expressions of support from the state government.

KAAC Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang, in a message shared on his official Facebook page, paid homage to Ru Semson Sing Engti, Khorsing Terang, and Sarsing Teron Langkung Habey. He also extended warm wishes to the people of Karbi Anglong on the occasion.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also conveyed his greetings through social media. In his message, he acknowledged the role of KAAC in serving the people of Karbi Anglong — the largest Sixth Schedule district in the country — and highlighted the council’s development initiatives since its inception.

“Our government stands firm with KAAC in empowering their decisions and giving flight to their aspirations,” the Chief Minister stated.
