Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann Ki Baat address, praised the transformation of Bodoland in Assam, highlighting its growing identity shaped by sports and youth participation.

Referring to the ongoing Bodoland Cem Cup in the Bodoland Territorial Area, the Prime Minister stated that over 3,700 teams and nearly 70,000 participants, including a significant number of girls, are taking part in the tournament. He described the event as a reflection of the energy, unity, and aspirations of the youth in the region.

Modi also mentioned notable athletes from Bodoland—Halicharan Narzary, Durga Boro, Apurna Narzary, and Manabir Basumatary—who have brought national recognition to the area, representing a rising generation that is reshaping the identity of Bodoland through sports.
