Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, called on the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan today. During the meeting, Dr. Mishra briefed the Governor on the university’s recent initiatives and achievements, particularly in the areas of early childhood nutrition, health economics, nutritional economics, and the quantification of health indicators. He also shared updates on the academic progress of the university.
The Governor lauded CAU’s contributions and emphasized the importance of continuing focus on child health and nutrition during the early developmental years.
In a separate meeting, representatives of the Uripok Apunba Lup, led by S. Tekendrajit Singh along with six other members, also met the Governor. The delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting various grievances of residents from the Uripok Assembly Constituency. Key concerns included the deteriorating condition of roads riddled with potholes, non-functional streetlights, and persistent traffic congestion due to heavy vehicles in residential areas.
The Governor gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that their concerns would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
