Security forces have arrested three active militants belonging to different proscribed outfits in separate operations carried out across Kakching, Imphal West, and Bishnupur districts, police said on Friday.

In Kakching district, an active cadre of the banned Kangleipak Yawol Kanna Lup (SOREPA) was apprehended from Umathel Bazar on Thursday.

Another SOREPA cadre was arrested from Mayang Imphal Thana Mamang Leikai in Imphal West district on Wednesday. Police allege he was involved in extortion, serving monetary demands, kidnapping, and recruiting new cadres for the outfit in Thoubal, Kakching, and Imphal West districts. A 9mm pistol, one magazine, and four live rounds were recovered from his possession.

In another operation, an active cadre of the proscribed PREPAK (Pro) was arrested from Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district on Thursday.
