A schoolgirl was allegedly hacked to death in broad daylight at Samgong village near Williamnagar in Meghalaya’s East Garo Hills district on Friday, police said on Saturday.
According to officials, the teenager was attacked with a machete in full public view by an unidentified assailant.
A police team has launched a manhunt to trace the accused, while the motive behind the crime is yet to be determined.
