Agartala, July 24, 2025: Tripura former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday met Union Minister for Housing, Urban Affairs and Power, Manohar Lal Khattar seeking expedited completion of the Lighthouse Project in Tripura.
Taking to social media after the meeting, Deb said, “Met Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar ji and urged him to ensure the speedy execution of the Lighthouse Project in Tripura. This project holds immense importance for the people of the state.”
During the meeting, the MP also pushed for additional funding to fast-track the construction process. “We discussed the scope for allocating additional funds to accelerate the construction,” Deb said.
The Lighthouse Project in Tripura is one of six such projects being implemented across India under the Global Housing Technology Challenge (GHTC). Once completed, the project will provide housing for 1,000 families, offering them access to sustainable and modern living infrastructure.
“This project is not just about buildings; it’s about transforming lives by providing dignified housing to our citizens,” Deb added.
The Lighthouse Project is being developed using innovative construction technologies with the aim to serve as a model for affordable urban housing across the country.
