Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gangtok, Mahendra Chettri, led a joint inspection on Friday to address irregular water flow concerns at Namli, located on the NH 717 Pakyong Airport road.

The inspection team comprised officials from Disaster Management, Revenue, BAC Martam, NHIDCL, Water Resources Department, revenue surveyors, and local community members.

The team surveyed areas where water channelization could improve flow and identified key locations for intervention. SDM Chettri directed the engineering section of BAC Martam to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) and cost estimates for the drainage work.

Further, the Revenue supervisor was instructed to identify landowners whose properties fall within the affected zones. The BDO Martam was tasked with organizing consultations with these landowners and other stakeholders for necessary follow-up action.

This coordinated effort aims to improve water management and ensure smooth drainage along the NH 717 corridor.
