Manipur Police on Friday stated that the overall law-and-order situation in the state remained normal during the past 24 hours.

According to an official release, the Governor-in-Council has approved the enhancement of ration money allowance for Manipur Police personnel, including those in Manipur Rifles, India Reserve Battalion, Civil Police, Manipur Police Telecommunication Organisation, Central Motor Transport Workshop, and Village Defence Force. The revised allowance has been increased from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 per head per month, effective from September 1, 2025.

Meanwhile, security forces continued search operations and area domination in vulnerable and fringe areas across districts. On August 20, during a search operation at Sunusiphai Patton under Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district, forces recovered one AK-47 rifle with a magazine, one SBBL gun, 15 live ammunition rounds of various calibres, 23 empty cartridges, one smoke grenade, one Baofeng radio set, six bulletproof jackets, and four bulletproof helmets.

Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Singh visited Tengnoupal and Thoubal districts to review the law-and-order situation, interact with officers, and boost the morale of security personnel. In Moreh, he met police and commando personnel at Moreh Police Station and also held discussions with local civil society organisations.

At Tengnoupal Police Station and District Headquarters, the DGP encouraged personnel to continue their efforts in maintaining law and order and combating drugs. He also met Assam Rifles officials to review security measures, including progress on border fencing. Later in Thoubal, he held a meeting with senior officers on case investigations and steps taken against drug-related offences.
