Agartala, May 14, 2026: Tripura’s SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Wednesday strongly criticized remarks made by Tamil Nadu opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding Sanatan Dharma, asserting that the religion is “eternal” and cannot be eradicated by any force.

Addressing people through a Facebook Live session today, Sudhangshu Das referred to recent statements allegedly made in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and accused Udhayanidhi Stalin of repeatedly targeting Sanatan Dharma. According to the minister, Stalin had once again stated that “Sanatan Dharma should be eradicated,” adding that similar remarks had been made by him in the past as well.

Das claimed that such comments reflected a lack of understanding about Sanatan Dharma and said the religion has survived numerous historical attacks over centuries. “Sanatan Dharma is eternal. No one has the capacity to destroy it,” he said during the live interaction.

The minister further stated that several foreign invaders in history had attempted to weaken Hinduism and demolish temples, but the faith continued to survive and revive itself. Referring to the Somnath Temple, he said repeated attacks in the past could not wipe out the religion or its traditions.

Das also alleged that anti-Hindu politics was being encouraged in different parts of the country and criticized what he described as the silence of certain political leaders over the issue. He claimed that Hindus are becoming increasingly conscious about their religious identity and asserted that a “Hindu awakening” is taking place across the nation.

During his address, the minister additionally accused Congress, Left and Communist ideologies of supporting forces that, according to him, work against Hindu interests. He appealed to followers of Sanatan Dharma in Tripura to remain united for the protection and prosperity of their religion.
