Manipur: Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 launches In Thoubal; To promote Nutrition And Healthy Living

Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 was formally launched today at the Thoubal DC Complex in a programme organized by the District Programme Officer (DPO), ICDS Cell, Thoubal.

Speaking at the launch, Th. Romita Devi, DPO Thoubal, emphasized the importance of maintaining health and hygiene while encouraging the consumption of locally available vegetables. She noted that the campaign seeks to build a Suposhit Bharat (well-nourished India), in line with the objectives of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. The initiative, she added, focuses on community engagement, nutrition education, and the use of technology such as the Poshan Tracker for better governance.

The inaugural programme was attended by CDPO Lilong L. Aruna Devi, Chief Medical Officer Y. Nokul Singh, DPM Ch. Basanta Singh, Dr. Trusty District Family Welfare Officer Okram Chitra, Special Programme Manager (NCD), supervisors, inspectors, ICDS officials and staff, along with around 300 Anganwadi workers from the Thoubal ICDS Project.

It may be mentioned that Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 is being observed across Manipur from September 17 to October 16 under the Department of Social Welfare. This year’s key focus areas include addressing obesity, mainstreaming men’s participation, convergent action and digitization, early childhood care and education (ECCE), promotion of local food systems, and infant and young child feeding (IYCF).

During the month-long campaign, various activities such as awareness programmes, nutrition and health camps, sensitization drives, and promotion of nutritious foods will be organized. To mark the occasion, a special rally featuring Anganwadi workers, helpers, and ICDS staff was also held at Thoubal.
