Agartala, September 24, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha on Wednesday strongly condemned an attack on party leaders and journalists at Hezamara Community Hall and visited GB Hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured.

A clothes-distribution programme for women, organized to mark Sharad Tsav and scheduled for 12:30 pm on September 21 with MP Biplab Kumar Deb expected to attend, was disrupted when activists and supporters of Tipra Mathar allegedly stormed the venue at about 12 pm.

According to BJP sources, the attackers used sharp weapons and sticks, entered the hall and assaulted party workers who had gathered for the event.

BJP worker Mangal Debbarma sustained a serious head injury in the incident and several others estimated at five to seven were also hurt and treated at GB Hospital. The Chief Minister went to the hospital today to oversee their medical check-up.

Condemning the violence, Dr. Saha said those responsible “will not be spared” and promised strict punishment in accordance with the law. He reiterated that legal action will be pursued against the perpetrators.
