Agartala, October 7, 2025: BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh were subjected to a planned attack while standing in solidarity with flood-affected residents in North Bengal. BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb visited the leaders today to check on their well-being.

Commenting on the incident, BJP leader Shri Dev took to social media, stating that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is gradually losing public trust. “Fearing a loss of power, she has turned the government into a party tool, resorting to politics marked by lawlessness, terror, and violence. Every day, a scandalous chapter is being written under the ‘Mamata-less Mamata regime,’” he wrote.

Strongly condemning the attack, Shri Dev alleged that the Trinamool Congress, having lost popular support, is now employing miscreants to silence opposition voices. He added that the assault on Murmu and Ghosh was politically motivated, carried out as revenge for their support to the flood-affected communities.
