Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, IAS, along with the Superintendent of Police, Jiribam, and Commanding Officer of 20th Battalion CRPF, inspected damaged houses at Jakuradhor Karong, Lamdai Khunou, and Modhupur to assess resettlement measures for displaced persons currently staying at relief camps.

During the visit, the team interacted with the inmates of the relief camps and distributed toys and sweets to the children. The Deputy Commissioner also handed over sports materials to youth clubs of Jakuradhor and Lambhutangkhal, as well as to students of Netaji Government High School and the relief camp at Borobekra Police Station.
Later, Krishna Kumar reviewed the status of the Jiribam–Tipaimukh Road with the concerned Executive Engineer and contractor, emphasizing timely completion and quality maintenance of the project.
Meanwhile, the Borobekra Volleyball Tournament, organized by the 20th Battalion, CRPF Jiribam, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the Khelo India initiative, began on Wednesday at Netaji High School, Borobekra, Jiribam.
The tournament features 20 teams competing for the title, with the final match scheduled for November 14, 2025. In the opening match, the Thangboipunjee Volleyball Team defeated the Dholakhal Volleyball Team by 25-10, 25-15 (two sets).
Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar graced the opening ceremony as Chief Guest and highlighted that the tournament offers an opportunity for players to demonstrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and friendship. He underscored the importance of collective effort and leadership in nation-building, urging participants to carry forward the lessons learned from sports into future endeavors.
He also expressed appreciation to the CRPF, Police, and other security forces for maintaining law and order and ensuring peace in the district.
Krishna Kumar concluded by encouraging players and youth to embody the values of discipline, cooperation, and responsibility, noting that these traits are essential for shaping responsible leaders and a stronger society.
