Guwahati, Dec 1: The Assam cabinet on Sunday approved an increase in ex-gratia payments for families of deceased National Health Mission (NHM) employees, raising the amount from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the decision following the state cabinet meeting.
The cabinet also approved a roughly 35 percent salary increase for employees at five mini Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) located in Dudhnoi, Pathsala, Rangia, Biswanath Chariali, and Titabor. The revised pay structure will include an updated basic salary and an annual increment of 3 percent, effective from January 1, 2026.
Additionally, land patta allotments were cleared for 1,372 applicants under the Mission Basundhara scheme across districts including Dhubri, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Golaghat, Nalbari, and Barpeta.
Preparations for the inauguration of the Swahid Smarak martyrs’ memorial on December 10 were also discussed during the meeting.
