Agartala, January 07, 2026: Within a span of just two days, a series of vandalism incidents has unsettled the hill region, leaving residents alarmed and frustrated over the state of security.
On Tuesday morning, unidentified miscreants defaced the signboard of the Mizo Convention at Monpui village under Jampui Hill block. Later that night, another act of destruction was reported from Tlaxi, where the entry gate signboard of the paragliding site was smashed.

The consecutive attacks have triggered widespread anger among locals, who fear a worsening law and order situation. Community members voiced sharp criticism of the Vanghmun police station, questioning its ability to protect public property and maintain peace in the area.
With no official statement yet from authorities, the incidents have intensified calls for stronger policing and swift action against those responsible. Residents say the repeated sabotage has created an atmosphere of unease, demanding urgent intervention to restore confidence in law enforcement.
