Agartala, January 08, 2025: In a decisive move to strengthen governance and enhance administrative capabilities, the Tripura government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, has rolled out a comprehensive officer training initiative aimed at fostering talent and streamlining public administration.

Driven by the Chief Minister’s vision for a forward-looking and efficient bureaucracy, the state has introduced a structured training policy for officers. This policy is designed to equip government personnel with the intellectual tools and updated skills necessary for modern governance and effective delivery of development programs.

As part of this initiative, 20 Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers currently serving in key administrative roles will undergo mid-career training at some of the country’s premier institutions. The first batch is set to attend specialized programs at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata, the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR) in Hyderabad, the Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) in Shimla, and the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) in Gaya. The officers will report to the Centre for Public Administration and Rural Development (CIPARD) on January 9, where the program will be formally inaugurated.

Highlighting the importance of continuous learning, Chief Minister Saha has repeatedly underscored the need for intellectual growth and administrative agility in various high-level meetings. He emphasized that such training is essential to sustain the momentum of development and to build a transparent, citizen-centric governance model.

According to official sources, the out-of-state training programs will become an annual feature, ensuring that officers remain aligned with evolving administrative practices. Complementing this, CIPARD continues to host regular in-house training sessions for officers and departmental staff, often featuring experts from reputed national institutions. An advanced training module tailored for senior officials is also in place to further elevate leadership within the bureaucracy.
