Agartala, February 9, 2026: Tripura’s Goladharpur village witnessed the implementation of a key welfare initiative as Minister Tinku Roy handed over a cheque of ₹50,000 to beneficiary Mili Sinha under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana. The scheme, designed to support daughters of Antyodaya families upon reaching the age of 18, provides financial assistance to ease the burden of marriage expenses.
Eligible applicants can submit proof of age—such as Aadhaar cards or school certificates—along with bank account details to the local Panchayat, CDPO, or SDM office. After verification, qualified candidates receive the financial grant ahead of their wedding.
Speaking at the event, Minister Roy emphasized that the scheme has become a significant support system for economically weaker families. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for introducing the initiative and urged other eligible families in the area to come forward and apply. “The government is committed to ensuring that every deserving household benefits from this project,” he said.
The ceremony highlighted the scheme’s growing impact in rural communities, offering both financial relief and social empowerment to families preparing for their daughters’ marriages.
