Aizawl, Feb 12: Mizoram Health and Social Welfare Minister Lalrinpuii has been awarded the Women Icon Award 2026 for her significant contributions and leadership in the state’s healthcare sector.

The award was presented at a national summit in New Delhi, organised by Achievers’ World and the Indian Achievers’ Forum. The event, themed “Viksit Bharat 2047 through Comprehensive Socio-Economic Development,” recognised leaders from various fields for their outstanding work.

In her speech, Lalrinpuii dedicated the recognition to her department officials, highlighting their collective efforts in improving healthcare services in Mizoram. She also urged corporate partners to enhance investment in health and nutrition, citing the state’s relatively low corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions.

Key achievements under her leadership include the successful rollout of the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme (MUHCS), maintaining one of India’s lowest infant mortality rates, excellence in Mission Viksit Bharat, and initiatives supporting rural families with transport for deceased relatives.

Other eminent personalities from various sectors were also felicitated at the summit.
