Agartala, February 17, 2026: In a significant push towards enhancing skill development and employment generation in Tripura, senior officials of the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) conducted an inspection of the training facilities of New Directions Educational Society, a Project Implementing Agency (PIA) under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY 2.0).

The institute, situated near Sal Bagan in Agartala, has been designated to provide specialized training in Solar Technician trades, with assured placement support for candidates who successfully complete the programme. TRLM has allocated Rs 98 lakh for execution of the project through the PIA.

On Tuesday, TRLM Chief Executive Officer Tarit Kanti Chakma (LAS), Chief Operating Officer (Skills) Sankaraj Roy, and senior official Prankrishna visited the centre to review infrastructure, course delivery mechanisms, and placement strategies. The officials also interacted with the management team to assess preparedness and quality standards.

During the visit, TRLM representatives underscored that the initiative aims to equip rural youth with industry-aligned technical competencies, particularly in the renewable energy sector, thereby opening up sustainable employment avenues within and beyond the state.

The inspection forms part of the state’s broader strategy to strengthen livelihood infrastructure and promote long-term career pathways under the DDU-GKY 2.0 framework.
