Gangtok, Feb 17: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Tuesday received the Silver SKOCH Award for the ‘Creative Hub’ initiative and the ‘Sikkim Odyssey’ augmented reality (AR) game from a delegation of the Information and Public Relations (IPR) Department at Mintokgang. The delegation was led by Secretary Annapurna Alley and included Press Secretary Yougan Tamang, Director Sunil Kumar Mohtey, Additional Director Bishal Khawas, and Data Analyst Karma Lama.
Alongside the award presentation, the official poster for the upcoming Sikkim Film Festival 2026, scheduled for March, was also unveiled to the Chief Minister.
The IPR Department had received the awards at the 105th SKOCH Summit held at Silver Oak, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on January 10, 2026.
‘Creative Hub’ is an IPR initiative showcased at the Maghey Sankranti Mela in Jorethang, designed to connect creative organisations, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders while highlighting Sikkim’s cultural heritage through modern technology and innovation.
The ‘Sikkim Odyssey’ AR game, launched in 2025 to mark 50 years of Sikkim’s statehood, encourages players to visit real-world landmarks, collect AR clues, and earn rewards, blending cultural education with fitness and technology.
