Agartala, February 18, 2026: Tripura’s ARD, Fisheries and SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Wednesday extended his greetings and congratulations to Tarique Rahman, the newly elected chief of Bangladesh’s BNP political party, on taking oath as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

“I am hopeful that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, a truly democratic government will be established in Bangladesh, ensuring justice for all citizens,” Das said in his message.

He expressed particular concern for the Hindu community in Bangladesh, voicing optimism that “the inhuman persecution, atrocities, and killings of Hindus will come to an end.”

The minister also made a special appeal to the new Prime Minister for the immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das, who he said is imprisoned in a false case.
