Agartala, February 24, 2026: Tripura’s Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma on Tuesday said that the “Destination Tripura Business Summit 2026” has emerged as a powerful platform to project the state’s vast economic potential and the new development narrative of the Northeast before national and global investors.
Speaking after participating in the summit held at the prestigious FICCI, Tansen Marg, New Delhi, the minister said, “Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the ‘Destination Tripura Business Summit 2026’. This was not just a business summit, but a significant platform to showcase the immense potential, innovation, and new direction of development in Northeast India.”
Santana Chakma highlighted that the event enabled meaningful interactions with respected investors, industrialists and policymakers from India and abroad. “The opportunity to deliberate with key stakeholders was deeply inspiring. Our discussions focused on Tripura’s emerging industrial opportunities and its readiness to welcome investment,” she said.

According to the minister, the summit witnessed extensive deliberations on infrastructure development, the growing startup ecosystem, agri-based industries, bamboo-based enterprises, tourism, information technology and the manufacturing sector. She emphasized that Tripura’s strategic location, improving connectivity and investor-friendly policies are creating a conducive environment for sustainable industrial growth.
“Tripura is steadily positioning itself as a promising destination for industries, particularly in sectors like bamboo, agro-processing, tourism and IT. The state government is committed to providing all necessary support to investors,” she added.
The minister noted that the positive response from investors, the establishment of new relationships and the enthusiasm surrounding future prospects made the summit particularly memorable. “The encouraging interactions with investors and industrial leaders clearly reflect growing confidence in Tripura’s development journey,” she remarked.
Expressing optimism, Santana Chakma said such initiatives would play a crucial role in strengthening the industrial base of the Northeast. “I firmly believe that sustained efforts like this summit will help take India’s Northeast to new heights of self-reliance, industrial prosperity and sustainable development,” she said.
