Namchi, March 24: The District Level Drug Disposal Committee carried out the destruction of seized controlled and contraband substances at District Hospital, Namchi, on Tuesday, following approval from the Ld. District & Sessions Court, Namchi.
The drugs, seized during operations from 2018 to 2025, were associated with 23 SADA cases whose trial proceedings have concluded.
The disposal was carried out using the hospital’s incinerator facility, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and legal protocols.

Spasmo-Proxyvon Capsules: 76,794
Nitrosun 10 Tablets: 1,208
Cough Syrup: 1,040 bottles
Brown Sugar: 240 grams
Officials present included Sr. SP Sonam Doma Bhutia, SDM Namchi Wangyal Sherpa, CMO Namchi Junita Yonzon, ASP Namchi Mani Kumar Tamang, Court Inspector Prosecution Branch Anupa Gurung, Drugs Inspector Nagendra Kumar, and two independent witnesses.
