Bagmita Saikia from Titabar, Jorhat, Assam, has been selected to represent Assam at the 61st edition of Femina Miss India, scheduled for April 18 at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Campus in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications, Saikia has been a creative force since childhood. At just six years old, she won first place in an All-Assam Art & Crafts Competition. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone early through jewellery-making, while her talents extended to dance, singing, and sports.
Pageantry, however, became her true passion. She entered her first contest at 13 and has since earned multiple titles, including Northeast Diva 2024, which secured her a direct entry to LIVA Miss Diva Beauty Queen 2024.
The 61st edition of Femina Miss India will bring together 30 contestants from across the country, with each of the 29 states represented, along with one contestant from Delhi and a combined entry for the Union Territories.
