Mariam Longri, a resident of Kharsang in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh, has been selected to participate in the 61st Femina Miss India 2026, scheduled for April 18 at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
She is among 30 contestants representing 29 states, Delhi, and Union Territories. Mariam made history in 2018 by becoming the youngest winner of the 16th Sunsilk Mega Miss Northeast. She began her pageantry career during school and completed her Class 12 examinations at Donyi Polo School, Itanagar, the same year.
The youngest of nine siblings, Mariam is the daughter of a retired inspector and an NGO founder. She actively engages in social work, volunteering with the Arunachal Orphan Care Society to support underprivileged children.
Crowned by 2017 titleholder Mary Khyriemin, Mariam has emphasized encouraging young girls in Arunachal Pradesh to pursue education, community service, and personal ambitions.
