Agartala, March 28, 2026: With the ADC elections drawing closer, political activities have gained significant momentum across the region. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to be pushing aggressively, with its candidate Bipin Debbarma from the 7-Demchhara–Kachuchhara constituency leading an extensive grassroots campaign on Saturday.
Starting early in the morning, Debbarma carried out a door-to-door campaign in several areas including Balaram, Debbarma Para, and Kachuchhara, directly engaging with voters and seeking their support. His outreach saw participation from key party figures such as Ambasa BJP Mandal President Ajay Adhikari, Hemali Debbarma, tribal leader Lalfir Halam, along with other leaders of the local BJP and Janajati Morcha.
During the campaign, Debbarma adopted a personal approach—meeting residents, listening to their concerns, and even seeking blessings from elderly citizens by touching their feet. His interaction with the public focused not only on garnering votes but also on understanding grassroots issues.
Speaking to the media, Bipin Debbarma criticized the previous leadership, alleging that the constituency had witnessed little to no development over the past five years. He claimed that the people have been deprived of basic amenities and have not seen active representation from their MDC.
Highlighting BJP’s vision, he asserted that with the party already in power at both the Centre and the state, forming a government in the ADC would ensure “triple engine” development. He promised transparent and impartial governance, emphasizing that his priorities would include employment generation for youth, better education and healthcare facilities, improved road connectivity, and access to safe drinking water.
Debbarma further expressed strong confidence in BJP’s prospects, stating that the electorate is eager for change and that the formation of a BJP-led council in the ADC is only a matter of time.
